This Sunday, August 12th, at 5pm, Lynne's Riding School is giving pony rides to benefit the Forest Park Trust. Forest Park is only the best park in all of Queens, which I would know since I ride there every week. There is also other stuff, like a carousel and a band shell and more. You can read a wikipedia entry at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Park_(Queens)

Pony rides are $5 for kids and $6 for adults (adults will get to ride a larger pony or a horse). We will be having other events like face painting too, I think for $5 as well. I'm going to get a snowflake painted on Snowflake's butt!

For directions to the stable and other random outdated information (since I can't seem to hack the password to update the webpage) go to: http://lynnesriding.com/

Now, I'm not going to blame you if you've never before heard of Spotted Dick. I hadn't even discovered myself until last week. There is the curse though, once you've heard of Spotted Dick, you can never UNHEAR of it.

Have a good weekend everyone! Try not to get any katzenjammers!*

*Have you ever heard a cat wailing and felt that you could relate? Apparently some hungover German speakers once did. "Katzenjammer" comes from the German "Katze" (meaning "cat") and "Jammer" (meaning "distress").

Man lives in the sunlit world

of what he believes to be reality.

But, there is, unseen by most, an underworld,

a place that is just as real,

but not as brightly lit.....

A DARKSIDE.

The dark side is always there,

waiting for us to enter,

waiting to enter us.

Until next time,

try to enjoy the daylight.

Oh the Donna outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Let It Snow

All the info you need to come to the screening is on this cool poster Saif made last night, which will soon be hanging in a real movie theater lobby.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

As a side note, we went to a movie last weekend, and Saif counted 100 seats in the theater -- which made it the same size as this theater! Panic and excitement set in!
